Baked Beans

 

Baked Bean Casserole

Yields 8 servings (1/2 cup servings) 

  • 2 15 oz. cans great northern beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3 slices cooked uncured nitrate/nitrite free bacon, crumbled
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1/4 cup organic tomato paste
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup jarred sliced jalapeños
  • 2 tbsp. brown coconut sugar
  • 2 tsp. dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • Himalayan sea salt and pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 8 minutes until sauce thickens. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
